Start Here — Your Main Academic Advisor

If you are NEW to the American Multicultural Studies (AMCS), Chicano and Latino Studies (CALS), Native American Studies (NAMS), or Spanish programs, your first step is to meet with our University Academic Advisor:

Nicole can help you:

• Understand GE requirements and your Academic Requirements Report (ARR)

• Register for classes and use advising tools

• Complete forms, petitions, and follow university policies

• Review your academic standing, probation, holds, and to-do items

• Connect you with the right faculty advisor for your program

• Help navigate MySSU and teach you how to pull your ARR.
   

Meeting your Program Advisor

• Meet with your advisor at least once each semester

• Schedule early — the week before registration is the busiest

• Bring your Academic Requirements Report (ARR) to your appointment(s)

• If you studied abroad, bring your study abroad transcripts

• Have your questions, forms, and any required documents ready

Choose your program below to see your assigned faculty advisor based on your last name. Each program section includes contact details and a photo below the program, so you can easily recognize your advisor when you meet with them.
